My Piece of the World Wide Web

 Hello,

My name is Chantelle Brooke Davis and I am a first year student at Murdoch University. Over the next four years I will be studying to become an early childhood and primary teacher. This website was created for the unit EDN113 and is a collection of assignments, blogs and resources that could be helpful in a teaching environment.

About Me

I am a 2011 high school graduate who entered university thorough a Dean's Entry Award and an ATAR of 95.30. My school subjects were maths and science based so this technology unit will be challenging.

Although I have always wanted to be a primary school teacher I am often told that I would make a great doctor/surgeon. Many people believe that I will be bored teaching, but I am motivated to teach the next generation of students to the best of my abilities. Too often teachers aren't interested in the work they do and students suffer because of this. I strongly believe that the primary educational experience of a child shapes the adult they become. My sister and 9 cousins are younger than me, so I have always played the 'adult' role within family situations and this has helped me realise that I love being in that 'caring but in control' position.

I aim to be an encouraging teacher who helps all students achieve to their uppermost potential. After completing the majority of this unit I believe that to do this I need to employ the 'authentic task' approach.
